Medicare for All

On May 17, 2023, U.S. Representatives Pramila Jayapal (WA-07), Debbie Dingell (MI-06) and U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT)  introduced the Medicare for All Act of 2023.

The House legislation is cosponsored by more than half of the Democratic Caucus and 13 powerful committee ranking members.

Check the chart below for a few reason why we need Medicare for All.
How will Medicare for All be funded?

The same way health care has always been funded. Premiums. Don't be fooled. "Taxes" are just a different term for Premiums. Employees pay 'premiums' through payroll tax deductions, along with Medicare and Medicaid tax deductions. Seniors pay 'premiums' to Medicare and taxes on their benefits.

What will your premium be? Get an estimated premium at PNHP.org. How does that compare with the amount you are currently paying? Don't forget to include copays, deductibles, coinsurance and other uncovered expenses.
